Having organised many successful events, one thing you always need is great preparation, and just because it's a kids party, doesnt mean you wont overlook a few areas:
1) Fill the party bags the day before. You need to be sure you have enough of everything. If the main element is cake, then best to wait til the candles have been blown out. 2) Charge the battery in the camera. You don't want to take the first photo and see the battery light appear. You should also check that you have enough space on the memory card, or enough film. 3) If there are brothers and sisters of the party boy or girl, try to involve them in the organisation.
